Apollinaire Tony K. GBETEGLO

Apollinaire Tony K. GBETEGLO

Apollinaire GBETEGLO is a Franco-Togolese artist based in Marseille since 2007.

He develops an art, painting and sculpture, imprinted with his African roots, the culture and cults of the Vodoun religion.

His practice includes the use of natural materials such as wood, rope, ocher and earth but also, acrylic, pencil or felt. It brings out an art both rooted in ancient traditions and anchored in a bubbling and mixed present.

Apollinaire's work is both joyful and profound, playful and full of gravity. His pieces are a medium between the viewer and humanity, a link between humans and nature.

Apollinaire is finally a complete artist, plastic artist, poet and dancer, but it is especially a man in the full sense of the term, a free man, a man linked to the other, a man linked to the others.

Breath
Oh breath
Breathe your suffering
Breath without suffering
Breath without trembling
Breath without moaning
It is evidence of a desire
It is a manifestation
It is also the energy that keeps you going
It's the sound that comes from inside
Blow to free your heart
Blow to air your head
Breath for the escape of your mind
It makes you reborn from your ashes
It's the nameless wind that carries you away
Look, a seed is growing, blowing.
